Rev. Fr. Jhun Gimeno at 44
Fresh from a week-long diocesan clergy retreat in Tagaytay, Fr Jhun went home in time for his birthday last Nov 16. Some parishioners of San Miguel serenaded him at around 4:30 am and expressed their wishes and prayers for the celebrant. After which, various kinds of kakanin, pandesal, eggs, hot coffee and choco were served and shared by evrybody.
In the evening, a thanksgiving dinner was held together with his family, friends and some priests. Adding color to the celebration was the non-stop singing until the later part of the night.
Being our shephered for more than two years now, Fr Jhun is known to his parishioners as the soft-spoken, approachable, supportive and active parish priest. Another notable trademark is the way he delivers his homily, relating the Gospel in the day to day life with his subtle jokes and punclines, making the faithful attentive and understand the Message well.
Long live, Fr Jun! As what kuya Ric Otero said referring to your initials JG:” stay Jolly and Gwapo”. (Photos Ric Otero)
