The archbishop took the inspiration of his homily on the theme of the celebration: “Remembering the Past with Gratitude, Living the Present with Enthusiasm, and Looking for the Future with Confidence.”
The archbishop said that the Holy Cross of Bunawan should be thankful to the PME Fathers who founded the school 50 years ago and the former spiritual directors and directresses/principals who administered the school.
He also said that the school must not be afraid what the future holds since they know who hold the future and it is God.
Sr. Ma. Lydia Famor, TDM, the present directress and principal said the school is proud to build the first three-storey building in the center of Bunawan.
She is referring to the school building near the entrance gate of the school, in which the blessing and laying of time capsule was officiated by Archbishop Capalla.
She said the school building is in preparation for the K-12 program implemented by the Department of Education.
Archbishop Capalla also blessed the students, teachers, school administrators and the workers who will construct the building.
The archbishop said the school building will not be possible without the students. He added that it is not the time capsule that should only be blessed but the people who will be behind the completion of the building.
Sr. Famor said the school building will be ready for occupancy by 2015. (@johnfrancesf)
