Davaoeñas shine at Google ‘s Women Techmakers Davao

Recognizing the role of women in the tech industry, an event dubbed as Women Techmakers Davao was held in Davao City, November 15.
Held at the University of Mindanao Main Campus, Bolton, Davao City, the event is a global program initiated by Google recognizing and celebrating women’s contribution, around the world, in the field of business, design and technology.

“A key component of Google’s vision is empowering women to pursue their dreams and build tools that change the world. We believe that when organizations create the right environments, programs and policies, women in technology can thrive,” Google Business Group (GBG) Davao Community Manager, Dulce Rose Lada said.

Organizers said Women Techmakers Davao and the BIMP-EAGA Women Leaders Café here in Davao City anchor the city as having one of the most progressive collaborative pool of women leaders in the tech industry.

“These events provide continuity in creating collaborative dialogues and sharing of ideas between women thought leaders on how technology can upspring inclusive growth and drive empowerment of women in general society,” organizers said.

The event showcases the works of women leaders in the tech industry. It also features panel discussions in Social Enterprise, ICT and Graphic Design together with 15 women female technology leaders in the country. (@johnfrancesf)
