A dream come true
Abp. Valles blesses new REMASE gym
It started as a dream—a covered court for the seminarians so they can still play basketball during rainy afternoons.
The seminary formators just wanted to have a simple venue where they can hold gatherings like alumni homecoming, fiesta celebration and the like but what they got was far better than expected.
The St. Francis Xavier Regional Major Seminary in is thankful for the completion and the blessing of their new gymnasium—the Dennis A. Uy-SFX REMASE Gym.
Mr. Dennis A. Uy of Phoenix Petroleums sponsored the total cost of building the entire gymnasium.
Last September 8, Archbishop Romulo G. Valles officiated the blessing and holy mass at the new gymnasium. It was attended by the seminary formators, family of Dennis Uy and company executives, Friends of REMASE, and the seminarians.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony and unveiling of the marker were also held during the affair held in the afternoon.
In his homily during the mass, the archbishop said the gym will add to the quality of formation of the seminarians.
He also said the new gymnasium will remind them of God’s plan, saying it was God who blessed their plans to have a covered court for the seminary.
The archbishop also lauded the generosity of Uy and all the lay faithful and companies who contributed to the betterment of the seminary—the heart of the local church.
