In search for new knowledge and of truth
Recognizing the need for research as one of the major functions of higher academic institutions, the Commission on Higher Education has recently organized a National Research Conference in Davao City.
With the theme: “Higher Education Institutions’ R & D for National Development,” academics, researchers and innovators from all over the Philippines gathered at the Grand Regal Hotel last August 6 to 8. The CHED research conference aims for the following:
1) To provide a venue for discussions and the dissemination of output of research efforts funded by CHED;
2) To highlight the publications produced, technologies developed/patented, educational materials/programs developed, and policies formulated/implemented out of the CHED-funded research efforts;
3) To help create and sustain research networking and partnership between and among the producers and consumers of research knowledge.
There are 96 researches made that will cover the following range of topics in the three-day conference:
a) Food Security and Fisheries
b) Economics and Livelihood
c) Social Sciences and Cultural
d) Research and Instruction, Teacher Education and Governance
e) Agriculture
f) Information and Communications Technology
g) Biodiversity
h) Environment
i) Energy and Engineering
j) Health
k) Environment and Modeling
The research conference was organized to provide a venue for the proper and effective dissemination of the results of research efforts funded by CHED as well as an opportunity for academe-based researchers to interact and share their experiences in the pursuit of new knowledge and of truth.
