Davao Doc hosts Shakey’s Girls V- League Season 12

Davao Doctors College (DDC) played host for the second time around the Shakey’s Girls Volleyball League (GVL) Season 12 Southern Mindanao Leg on August 11-14, 2014 at the DDC Gym.

Ten participating high schools from Southern Mindanao vied for the championship in the four-day play offs; namely: Tagum City National High School; Notre Dame of Cotabato, Inc.; Koronadal Comprehensive National High School; Cor Jesu College of Digos City; Ateneo De Davao University, Davao City National High School, Daniel R Aguinaldo National High Schools; Holy Cross of Sasa High School; University of the Immaculate Conception; and Ma-a National High School.

On the final day, Tagum City National High School showed its might and bested a host of others to top the GVL Season 12 Southern Mindanao Leg. Davao City National High School landed on the second place while Ateneo de Davao University, the defending champion, finished on the third place.

The regional winners will dispute the overall championship in next year’s League of Champions to be spiced up by the participation of foreign teams from New Zealand, Australia, the US and Bangladesh.

Also during the awarding ceremony, DDC received four Mikasa balls from SGVL 12 Tournament Director and Metro Sports’ Johans Danyz C. Buenvenida with Mr. Mohamad Ali P. Bernan, Coordinator of the Southern Mindanao Leg.
