Davao City holds First Greeneration Summit

DAVAO CITY, Philippines — After the success of its ‘Greeneration Summit: Tapping the Bayanihan Spirit of the Youth’ November 25 last year at the Mall of Asia SMX, Pasay City Manila, where thousands students and youth leaders gathered to learn about climate change and its impact on the planet, the Climate Change Commission under of Office of the President, has set its Greeneration Summit Davao on October 4, 2014 at the University of the Immaculate Conception – Annex Campus, Bonifacio Street, Davao City.

Organized by the Climate Change Commission (CCC),the sole policy-making body of the government which shall be tasked to coordinate, monitor and evaluate the programs and action plans of the government relating to climate change pursuant to the provisions of Republic Act 9729, also known as the Climate Change Act of 2009, Greeneration Summit Davao, a whole-day gathering for the youth to discuss different initiatives that they can do to help mitigate the impact of climate change.

The summit is inviting at least 700 students and youth leaders from different schools, colleges, universities and civic and social organisations to participate in the discussion. CCC will bring its Greeneration Ambassadors to discuss climate change impacts and what students and the youth can do to help save the environment.
