Abp. Valles calls for intensive support for priestly vocations
As the Archdiocese of Davao celebrates the month of Vocations this September, the Archbishop of Davao reminded his flock to intensify their support for the priestly vocations.
In his circular letter dated August 13, Archbishop Romulo G. Valles asked “the parish priests to make some adjustments in the fundraising for parish projects and give priority to the Seminary for the second collections in all Sundays of the month of September.”
For the Archbishop, “this gives us an opportunity to pray for vocations while raising our level of awareness to its value and importance in the life of the Church. In a special way, moreover, we give due attention to our diocesan seminarians for whom we bear a direct responsibility.”
The archbishop also asked the support of chaplains of public chapels, members of the Archdiocesan Council of the Lay Apostolates and Integrated Movements (ACLAIM), superiors of religious congregations, catholic school heads, GKK coordinators and all the faithful.
The celebration of the vocation month in the Archdiocese of Davao was launched last August 29, with a Holy Mass officiated by Archbishop Valles and attended by the Clergy, religious brothers and sisters and the lay faithful.
