22 Couples tie knot
“For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife and the two shall become one flesh. So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate” (Matthew 19:5,6)
Twenty two (22) couples of Virgen Dolorosa Parish (VDP) took their matrimonial vow last June 28 at nine o’clock in the morning during the Kasalan ng Parokya officiated by Msgr. Nelson Lucas, the parish priest.
Msgr. Lucas stressed the sacredness of marriage during his homily. He pointed out that after how many years of living together without the blessing of God finally they are now united with the Lord. Their union haS received God’s grace and that would lead to the fullness of joy for they have received God in their lives and put Him the center of their union.
The couples who exchanged I Do’s were living together for so many years and some were civilly married and others were married in other sects. The Kasalan ng Parokya was the parish way of encouraging those parishioners who have been living together without the blessing of God to finally receive the Holy Sacrament of Matrimony. It was given free by the parish.
It was evident on the faces of the couples the joy while they were marching along the aisle and the sincerity as they elevated their bodily union to become a spiritual union. It was also a dream come true for them to become a June bride.
Msgr Lucas thanked the Parish Coordinating Council and the GKKs for helping him in praying and working out to make this activity a success.
