OLLP youth enjoy Camp, Santacruzan and Seminar
The youths of the Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Bangkal maximized the remaining summer days. Last May 21, 22 and 23, the OLLP youth successfully held their summer youth camp on parish ground with 133 participants assisted by 15 committee members including the seminarians. The camp delegates were youths from various GKKs and different parish center organizations like KOTAS, LCCP, CCRS, and other distinguished Church youth associations, both parochial and transparochial. The summer camp strengthen the camaraderies and bondings among the youths in the center parish and GKKs. The camp’s theme was: “Following the footsteps of Jesus and Mary in building camaraderies among young people God”. The summer youth camp was initiated by the Parish Youth Coordinator Maryll Monica Piastro and GKK Youth Coordinator Ronmark Coprada.
On May 30, the youths decorated the parish’s aroma with flowers, sagalas,beauties and angels as beautiful muses from various GKKs paraded within the parish vicinity for the traditional Santacruzan. An outshining lady from Santa Cruz GKK was crowned Maria Elena. The activity also marked the culmination of the Flores de Mayo of the OLLP GKK children with liturgy, program, parlor games and bible quizes. The Santacruzan and Flores de Mayo culmination were facilitated by PSP Coordinator Elenita Biag and Parish Head Catechist Beverly Alcayde in coordination with Parish Socio-Cultural Committee led by Ma. Iris Melliza and Parish Pastoral Coordinator Ana Norbe.
On May 31, the youths convened at the parish pastoral building and listened to the wholeday Basic Church Teaching Seminar initiated by the OLLP Formation Ministry. The said seminar taught the youths of the basic Church history, the GKK orientation, the IIREF orientation, the basic social teachings and the APAD 2. The said seminar ends the OLLP youth summer activities. The youths sufficed fruitfully their summer this year with camps, funs, games, programs, parades, prayers, liturgies, learnings and seminars. The entire summer program of the OLLP was blessed by Parish Parish Father Dexter Veloso.
