St. Joseph Parish marks 50th fiesta
In this year of the Laity, the St. Joseph the Worker Parish in Sasa celebrates its 50th fiesta honoring the patron saint of workers, composed mostly of the laity.
Reflecting on the theme: Mapasalamaton, Matuohon ug Mapadayunong Paglawig Niining Tuig sa Layko uban ni San Jose nga Mamumuo, the parish dedicated this once in lifetime moment to celebrate the birth of their parish from its simple beginnings as a chapel until it was erected and established by the PME Fathers.
In his message to parishioners, Fr. Dionisio Tabiliran said from its humble beginnings, the parish has grown into a vibrant, dynamic and journeying community of disciples, challenged to live-up to the faith and call of God—to serve and love Him with utmost dedication and commitment.
Archbishop of Davao Romulo G. Valles joined the community in the celebration by presiding over the Eucharist, May 1.
“With this in mind, let us be one in mind and heart to thank the Lord for the bountiful blessings he showered upon us and our parish community for the past 50 years for his continuing guidance and presence among us in our midst,” Fr. Tabiliran said.
