THE PERPETUAL PROFESSION OF A MONASTIC BENEDICTINE SISTER
Sr. Elaine Marie Difuntorum, OSB, made her Final Profession last March 19, 2014 at St. Benedict Priory, Ulas, Davao City. The celebration was presided over by His Excellency Archbishop Romulo Valles, D.D. Her parents and relatives from Sultan Kudarat came to join the celebration with some friends, classmates and all the Benedictine Sisters of the Eucharistic King.
In His homily, the Archbishop stressed the response of Sr. Elaine that is: “I ask that I may follow Christ, my spouse and persevere in the Congregation of the Benedictine Sisters of the Eucharistic King until death.” It was indeed a celebration of joyful final yes to the Lord.
And after which the stomach development and picture taking followed with smiles on their faces that glooms the celebration. Sr. Elaine thanked all of us and most especially God who remains in His love even in trials and difficulties she encountered in her life. We were all touched when she sings the suscipe that says, “Receive me O Holy Lord according to your word and I shall live and I shall not be confounded in my expectation.”
