Bangkal church lay leaders convened for evangelization

The Formation Ministry of the Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Bangkal gathered more than forty laypeople in an Evangelization Seminar held in the parish pastoral building last February 22 and 23, 2014.  The participants came from various GKKs and parish center organizations.  Most of them, if not all, were new lay leaders.  Some were new officers of the “Council of Leaders”, including some Pangulo sa Katilingban, from distinguished GKKs.  Many attendees, among others, were new Lectors, Commentators, Cantors and Psalmists of the parish.  Aspiring PSLs and EMCs also joined the said Evangelization.

The response of lay leaders in attending the Evangelization was an expression of the laity’s empowerment in this Year of the Laity as they were molding their commitments in their service to the parish through different ministerial and pastoral functions.

The said formation was moved by the Parish Evangelization Team led by Beth Sacco.  Along with her were Vonz Hijada, Nestor Fruto, Violy Umbay, Remy Josue, Jun Josue, Abeth Corsiga, Joey Oxales,Julie Garciano, Ana Norbe and Richie Reyes.

All participants were so blessed for the richness of knowledge that they received; and they committed to complete the required basic formations prior to their sending forth as new and renewed lay leaders of the parish.

The same, or even more, participants were also expected on the proceeding schedules on Basic Bible Seminar and Basic Liturgy Seminar.  The increasing numbers of lay leaders in the parish are vivid manifestations of the still-growing community of the Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Bangkal.  The OLLP had just celebrated its 11th year as a parish last February 9.
