Bangkal parish strengthens formations for lay leaders
The Formation Ministry of the Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, Bangkal finalized its schedule of formation seminars and recollections for all lay leaders and members of various parish organizations and GKKs in this remaining first quarter of 2014.
The formation seminars are called to rejuvenate the awareness of laity. The invitation is for all new members of every parish organization and GKK, as well as for all new officers as they enter into a commitment in service to the parish. Likewise, interested current lay leaders who wished to refresh and renew their commitments are also encouraged to participate.
The first among the seminars is on Evangelization which is scheduled on the last week-end of February. This will be followed by a Basic Bible Seminar in the first week-end of March, and a Basic Liturgy Seminar on the proceeding week-end, thereafter. A five-day seminar for aspiring new PSL was set on March 17-21, 2014.
Aside from these basic seminars, more lay leaders are also enrolled in the OLLP Vicarate School of Theology of the Ignatian Institute of Religious Education Foundation to deepen their knowledge in the Theology for deeper understanding of their services in the parish.
On March 1, 2014, the OLLP Extraordinary Ministers of Communion will have their Recollection at the Sacred Heart Chapel to dispose themselves for the Lenten Season. This will also prepare them for their renewal of commitment. On the same date, the Formation Ministry has been invited to sit-in in a archdiocesan Pre-Lenten Recollection on “The Evangelizing Power of the Theology of Beauty in the Paschal Mystery” to prepare the lay leaders in the Spirit of Lent to be given by Bishop Emeritus Fernando Capalla, DD, at the Holy Cross of Davao College AVR.
On March 23, 2014, the Formation Ministry will be having its Lenten Recollection. Though the recollection was called for all parish formators, it will also be an open invitation for all parish lay leaders in response to the call of the Year of the Laity as the recollection would focus on “The Role of the Laity in the Modern World”. The main topic will be shared by Sir Lunar Tan-Fayloga, a Theology Professor from the Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU) and from the Ignatian Institute of Religious Education Foundation (IIREF).
