Baptism of Jesus Christ

Christ did have to be baptized because he is god the son and was born without original sin. Yet he went to the Jordan River and asked his cousin St. John to baptized him. St. John rightly answered who am I to baptized the Messiah, on the contrary, you , Jesus Christ should baptize me. Christ tenderly said that they will be both doing the will of God the Father so St. John performed the rites. We can draw two points from this vacant incident. First, if Christ who was without original sin, went out of his way to be baptized, we who are born with original sin should be baptized. Second, St. John by at first saying he is not worthy to baptize the redeemer showed humility. Christ humbled himself by going to the Jordan river to be baptized. He showed how we should conduct ourselves in our evangelizing efforts. It is not enough to be a member of a parochial organization. Participating in the parish activities in every possible way is necessary. Words and deeds, not only words.
