Nat’l. Bible Month 2014 Celebrates Family Bond
As the old saying goes, every family that prays together stays together. Ties among family members inspired the Archdiocesan Bible Apostolate of Davao (ABAD) in reveling the National Bible Month Celebration starting this December.
With the theme: “Engaging Every Family in Proclaiming and Living the Word of God”, the fete is set on January 20-26, 2014, and the 26th day will be the Bible Sunday of the month-long affair.
This will also see the Family Bible Enthronement as its focal activity which is in line with the celebration of the Feast of Holy Family on December 29, 2013 which serves as the opening marks of the festivities.
Mrs. Mila Punzalan, ABAD coordinator, says “this celebration of the National Bible Week is very important for people to be reminded of how important Bible and the word of God is for each and every one specially that we are already into a world of globalization.”
She also mentioned that aside from the Family Bible Enthronement, the celebration will be more enthusiastic with events such as Bible Quiz Bee, Poster Making Contest, Symposiums and Bible Blessings initiated by the GKK and other religious sectors.
The yearly tradition of National Bible Month was empowered by Proclamation No. 1923 by former President Ferdinand V. Marcos and by Proclamation No. 1067 by President Fidel V. Ramos, with the purpose of knowing the vital role of reading and studying the bible as a fundamental in sustaining and strengthening the relationship between families and with God.
