Bangkal Parish sets plans for Year of the Laity

The Parish Pastoral Council of the Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Bangkal discussed initial plans for its incoming parochial feast on February 2014. During their meeting held last December 15, the PPC-OLLP viewed the feast celebration to address meaningfully the spirit of the ‘Year of the Laity’.

Plans were drawn to ensure its activities to be GKK empowered. Booths per GKK were expected to be creative and interactive depending on the innovative and initiative of every GKK with less possible expenses.

Opening salvo of the week-end festivity was suggested to have pica-pica with acoustic music to welcome the celebration. Night activities like GKK Night, Youth Night and Leaders Night were limited and regulated to ensure less expenses and to draw more attendance and participation of the parishioners and GKK members.
On the actual feast day, traditional Filipino fiesta games were suggested like palosebo, agawang-biik, pukpok-palayok, sack race, patintero, and the likes. Winners will be acknowledged accordingly, but monetary prizes were discouraged.

Details of the feast activities will still be finalized by the sociocultural and programs committee of the parish.
