The November 12, 2008 issue of the PDI reports the result of a survey which says that 20% of the adult Filipinos are diabetics. There is also an alarming increase in cases of childhood obesity. Deaths among Filipinos from diabetes due to obesity may increase to an alarming height of 17 per cent within 10 years, unless people start changing their lifestyle by eating more healthful foods.
Processed and packaged foods found in supermarkets and food chains are addictive. According to Dr. Don Colbert, MD, author of Bible cure books such as “Bible Cure for Diabetes”, food provider companies employ brilliant chemists to ensure that consumers will continue patronizing the products. Fast foods and processed foods are marketed on TV, in magazines and on billboards so that they are kept continually before the consumers’ eyes, reinforcing unhealthy addictions to these foods. Thus, consumers continue to buy more and more of the very items that are slowly killing them.
Avoid the regular use of commercial food seasoning, such as “vetsin”. It is unnatural. A speck of brown sugar is an excellent alternative. Most commercial vinegar has been “cleansed” of mother ale and is therefore the cadaver of the more nutritious ones. The clearer the vinegar the more cadaverous it is. Go for the natural and more nutritious coco vinegar. (to be continued)
