SAMULCO takes break for annual Recollection
Recognizing the need to take a break from the daily routines of work, the Sta. Ana Multipurpose Cooperative or SAMULCO held the recollection at the Benedictine Priory, Ulas, Davao City last October 10.
Thirty employees and officers (1st batch) submitted themselves to reflect and listen to God’s word.
SAMULCO is a parish based cooperative founded way back February 1967 by Fr. Gerald Loiselle, PME of the Sta. Ana Parish. In its 46 years existence, SAMULCO continues its commitment to uplift the standard of living of the members and the community where it operates through allied services in Savings and Audit, Buying Club, Polyclinic and Diagnostic Center with its Dayong, Forest Lake, housing and scholarship programs.
The nearly 40, 000 members avail services from the Monteverde, Ramon Magsaysay-Chavez, Panacan, Puan, Matina and Buhangin outlets.
The said recollection owes its success to the expertise of dynamic sharers; Ms. Carmen Vergara and Fr. Ritsche Gamaya. With the special participation of Fr. Hover Jocson and Fr. Rico Enriquez who administered the sacrament of Reconciliation. Fr. Jupiter Morales presided over the Holy Eucharist wherein his homily gave emphasis on how to increase one’s faith.
Some of the highlights of the topics during the recollection are:
1. The 7 capital sins of which the antidote is the practice of Christian values by Ms. C. Vergara.
2.The Communion of Persons with emphasis on the role of the family in assuming responsibilities and building relationships in the community workplace and especially in the Church of Christ. It was clearly explained by Fr. Gamaya. The activity was concluded by the Act of Commitment sworn by the participants to uphold the Coop’s Code of Ethics on Personnel Relationship. Thus another item to prove was a personal challenge to each participant on how to do concrete action to uplift the dignity of work as employees and officers of SAMULCO.
Hopefully, the cooperative’s goals shall be achieved through collaborative efforts of all members of the SAMULCO family as pointed out in the recollection. May the guiding light of St. Anne, the cooperative’s patroness and God’s intervention bless the cooperative in its journey through thick and thin until its golden jubilee year, four years from now. Mabuhay ang SAMULCO!
