Oplan Tabang Bohol: Archdiocese of Davao sends aid to earthquake victims

The Archdiocese of Davao has organized a relief support operation for the earthquake victims of Bohol.
The City Government of Davao together with the dioceses of Digos, Tagum and Mati, in partnership with the business community, schools, lay movements and well-meaning citizens of Davao comprise Oplan Tabang Bohol. The immediate response is to address the needs of our brothers and sisters affected by the 7.2 earthquake that rocked the Visayas region, October 15.

Archbishop of Davao Romulo G. Valles has appealed to the faithful of Davao to send immediate aid to the victims in the form of relief goods namely: canned goods, rice, noodles, milk, medicine, coffee, sugar, salt, cooking oil. Materials for shelter like trapal, mats (banig), flashlight/batteries, toiletries like soap or laundry detergent are also encouraged.

Archdiocesan Social Action Center (ASAC) Director Fr. Leonardo Dublan, Jr. said donors are encouraged to bring their goods at the GSIS Covered Court, Matina, Davao City (near GSIS Parish Church). Due to the limited volume allocation, bottled waters are discouraged.
For cash donations, please deposit to: Roman Catholic Bishop of Davao BDO CM Recto Branch, Account No. 2700245918. For check donations please issue under the name of the Roman Catholic Bishop of Davao, Inc. Those who want to personally hand over their cash/check donations may go to the Archbishop’s Residence Finance Office, Florentino Torres Street, Davao City.

As of now, the Archdiocese has sent four truckloads of food items to Bohol. The plan is to continue this operation to help the victims recover from this tragedy. For queries, you may contact the Ascension of the Lord Parish at 296-2052.
