Vocation comes from God…and for God!

Vocation launching was celebrated in San Miguel Parish of Panacan with full of joy and excitement last September 01, 2013. It was facilitated by the San Miguel Parish Vocation Club Promoters.
Around 9 o’clock in the morning, 3rd mass the celebration started with the theme: Vocation comes from God… and for God. It was attended by the San Miguel Parish Vocation Club promoters and supporters who wore a brown T-shirt printed with an official logo of the club headed by Ate Tessie Barbosa, the San Miguel Parish Vocation Club coordinator with the officers of the newly installed organization of the parish under the name of Amanakina club, the parent’s association of Kotas.
Rev. Fr. Proceso G. Gimeno Jr., DCD, the parish priest of San Miguel Parish who presided the said celebration. Likewise, in his opening remarks, he stressed well the three important vocations in religious life: Brothers, Nuns and Priests. He also explained the importance of it in the church. At the same time, Fr. Gimeno sent forth the officers of Amanakina Club after his homily.
After the Holy mass, all went to the seminar hall and had a little salo-salo.
All Vocation Promoters were very supportive and glad to be part of it.
The Archdiocese of Davao launched the vocation month with a Holy Mass officiated by Archbishop Romulo Valles last September 2, at the San Pedro Cathedral.
Diocesan and religious priests concelebrated in the Mass participated in by religious men and women together with the laity.

What is Vocation

1. a particular occupation, business or profession; a part of calling.
2. a strong impulse or inclination to follow a particular activity or career.
3. a divine call to or response to God’s service or to Christian life.
4. a function or station in life to which one is called by God: The religious vocation or the vocation of marriage.
•What are the types of Vocation?
Usually we refer this in the context of priestly ordination through the Sacrament of Holy Orders, “vocation” is actually a concept that is permanent to all members of the Roman Catholic Church. The vocation of an individual represents the type of life that this individual will choose to direct and lead in relationship to the Church.
We Catholics, are able to select from one of the three types of vocation that we have:

1. Married Life
2. Single-blessedness
3. Religious Life, and Priesthood
