Cursillos 49th Opened

Within the three o’clock afternoon mass presided by its Spiritual Director, Fr. Jemasol “Jojo” Ortiz at the Our Lady of Fatima Parish, the 49th Anniversary and Grand Ultreya of the Cursillos In Christianity in the Archdiocese of Davao was formally opened. This year’s theme: “Bridging the Past… Looking Forward to a New Evangelization” sets the tone of the monthlong celebration in preparation for the next year’s golden jubilee. Activities of the celebration includes team reunions and parish ultreyas kicking-off in Fatima Parish (September 1), in San Pablo Parish (September 8) and in Sto. Rosario Parish (September 15), the Grand Ultreya (September 22) and an outreach program with the Badjao Community (September 29).
In his homily addressed not only to the cursillistas from the different parishes present but also to the participating Fatima parishioners, Fr. Ortiz stressed the importance of the Church’s mission of evangelization as one’s vocation. Thus, he challenged everyone to be evangelizers not just by words but by truly living Christ in one’s life daily.
Everyone, especially cursillistas, are invited to the 49th Grand Ultreya on September 22, 2013 from 8:00 in the morning at the Paterno’s Restaurant, Corner Aurora Street and Roxas Ave., Davao City. Come let us renew acquaintances and be counted as Christ Is Counting on YOU. De Colores!
