St. Francis Parish, Maa holds livelihood training

Special Project of TESDA offered to St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Maaby Engr. Ernesto S. Nadera, Regional Director –Korea-Philippine Vocational Training Center, Regional Training Center.

A BEC or Christian community- based livelihood training programis being introduced by TESDA, to St. Francis of Assisi -Maa parishioners that would offer them future employment or to put up their own businesses thus resulting to a better political mindset ora decision to lead a better life. Training courses courses offered are: Agri –farming, hog/poultry raising with vermicasting components (transforming waste into rich fertilizer); Baking/pastry making; plumbing, carpentry, painting, electrical and welding.

Last Sunday, August 11, 2013 initial discussions were made with the farmers and farm owners of SFAP and Engr. Ernesto S. Nadera at the SFAP Formation Center. EngrNaderashared with the group thatthe mission of the Church for the salvation of a man is not only with the soul but with the total reality of a human person – soul and body, spiritual and material, eternal and temporal as hequoted “ we cannot leave our body outside the church while worshipping God during Sundays.” But a man’s body and soul dimensions must be attended to, giving importance to spiritual well-being without neglecting the material needs of our bodied existence.

This first phase of the training program with courses listed below shall end by October 2013, and will cater a minimum of 15 to a maximum of 25 persons per livelihood training. It is hoped that this will only be the start of a continuing program. Those parishioners who want to be included in these training programs are advised to contact their respective GKK PangulosaKatilingban not later than August 18, 2013.
