Una Serenada Per San Padre Pio
DAVAO CITY- For the first time in Davao City, a piano concert will be held for raising funds to the construction of San Padre Pio Chapel at Lubo, Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur.
San Padre Pio was a Capuchin Catholic priest from Italy. He was born on May 25, 1887 in Pietrelcina, Benevento, Italy. He died in September 23, 1968 at the age of 81 at San Giovanni Rotondo, Foggia, Italy. He was beatified on May 2, 1999 at Rome by Pope John Paul II and was canonized on June 16, 2002 by the same pope. He was a patron of civil defense volunteers and catholic adolescents. He became famous for having the stigma. Stigma means the body marks or sensations of pain in locations corresponding to the crucifixion wounds of Jesus Christ like the hand, wrist and feet. He also was known as a saint of healing and exorcism.
On July 21, 2013, the concert will be held at The Marco Polo Grand Ballroom at 7:00 in the evening featuring five (5) fantastic pianists who came from different countries but are originally from Dabawenyos. They are: Reynaldo Canda, Viviana Fe Quijano, Gregorio Canceran, Stelamarie Ticong, Michael Lopez and Sylvia Panganiban.
