ADDU grad tops June 2013 Architecture Licensure Exams

Kenneth H. Yap, a BS Architecture graduate (Batch 2012) of Ateneo de Davao University, topped the June 2013 Architecture Licensure Examination with an average rating of 86%.

An active student leader, Yap served as Architecture Representative to the Engineering and Architecture Student Executive Committee (EASEC) for School Year 2010-2011. He also actively participated in competitions and activities within the School of Engineering and Architecture (SEA) and the University as well as in the United Architects of the Philippines Student Auxiliary (UAPSA). Yap was part of the team that won 1^st Place (Champion) during the 2010 ARQuiz Davao City Inter-School Architecture Quiz Bowl.

Another BS Architecture graduate (Batch 2010), Clarissa May M. Segura, placed 4^th with an average rating of 84.9%. A consistent Dean’s Lister, Segura was part of the team that won 1^st place (Champion) during the 2007 ARQuiz Davao City Inter-School Architecture Quiz Bowl.

This is the first time that an ADDU graduate placed 1^st in the Architecture Licensure Examination. Since 2006, the Architecture Department has produced five topnotchers: Arch. Ed Joseph B. Caharian (6^th place, February 2006 licensure exam); Arch. Mendrado S. Canusa IV (10^th place, February 2006 licensure exam); Arch. Angelica Sharmaine A. Coquilla (10^th place, January 2013 licensure examination); Yap, and Segura.

ADDU had an overall passing rate of 92.31%, with 12 passers out of 13 examinees. All ADDU examinees who took the Architecture Licensure Examination for the first time passed the examination. The national passing rate is 50.99% (901 passers out of 1,767 examinees).
