When is enough enough?
“Giving doesn’t empty one’s resources, but provides room for refilling.”
No matter the abundance of resources, when people do not know how to share, there will always be an atmosphere of lack. But no matter the scarcity, when people begin to be selfless, there will be more than sufficiency.
When new leaders are elected, many hope for a society which knows accountability. When new school year opens, some may feel there is scarcity of resources especially in sending someone to a quality education. When supply tends to be in demand and prices of commodities rise, people are tempted to hoard.
But unless we learn to be content and be grateful with what we have and break ourselves for others to share, there will never be enough for all of us. Our greed blinds our vision to be compassionate to others’ needs.
The Most Sacred Body of Jesus that is taken, blessed, broken and shared, and His Most Precious Blood shed, teaches us to give ourselves as family men and women, as public officials, and as servants of the Lord.
May the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ nourish and satisfy us that we may become generous distributors of God’s manifold grace.
