Mati Gov. appeals to set aside politics and get back to focus after polls

City of Mati, Davao Oriental – After the May 13, 2013 synchronized local and national elections, and with the winners already proclaimed and are waiting for the official start of their term in Office, an unopposed Gov. Cora Malanyaon is now appealing to the people to set aside politics, get back to focus and continue working for the province, with the hope this time for the new set of leaders as they will take their turn in being one with her in the direction towards a better and promising Davao Oriental despite the super typhoon that had befallen the province.

Malanyaon took her being unopposed for the second time as an enormous challenge. As this means the unfailing trust and confidence of the people of Davao Oriental, but she is also cognizant of the great responsibility embedded therein.

Earlier, she already reiterated that she will continue implementing her development agenda. Aside from remaining keen to the situation of the typhoon victims, the services of the provincial government still would benefit the people, particularly the impoverished ones whom she had consistently emphasized in her previous inagaural speeches.

Expectedly, the Governor is enjoying the support of her allies in the local government units, one thing that she is grateful of.

“We will work together and spontaneously, to bring whatever Davao Oriental rightfuylly deserves. We have just been through our toughest as yet, but we are coping well and we are surviving. With the fighting spirit of the people of Davao Oriental, we can overcome whatever that comes our way,” she said.

For Vice-Governor Joel Mayo Almario, he attributed their being unopposed to the prevailing unity among the provincial and local leaders, and their thrust which is nothing but for the goodness of Davao Oriental.

“They have seen how we work, how we comply with our responsibilities. Davao Oriental has no other choice but to move forward and has no reason why it won’t move forward,” he explained.

In his message in the 45th Araw ng Davao Oriental Founding Anniversary, Almario described the political scenario in the province as the best political maturity enjoyed by the province.

City of Mati Mayor-elect Carlo Rabat also reiterated his support to the development undertakings of the Province.

“We will be supporting her, as we see how she works for Davao Oriental, and we see that her agenda is for the people. We already have proven her leadership, and we will stand supportive to such,” he stressed before his proclamation almost two weks ago.

Gov. Malanyaon is heading on for another three years in public service. Though again, she has been emphasizing that she is not through with the Pablo victims yet, and life goes on.

“As nothing here on earth is permanent, I am confident that the people of Davao Oriental will remember my nature of service, my legacy to them and the next generation,” she concluded.
