Formation for Transformation

With a strong conviction of the heart and love of service to the Church, the San Miguel Parish in Panacan formation ministry had undergone recollection as part of their ongoing formation last June 1, 2013 at the Presentation of Mary, Catalunan Grande, Davao City.  It started from 8:30 in the morning and ended 5 o’clock in the afternoon.

The formation ministry involved several ministries who attended that recollection namely the Parish Formation Team, Prex Panacan, FLA, Catechists, The San Miguel Parish Vocation Club, PSKB, PSL, PSK, PSA, and PSAM. Each ministry has their lecturer.

Rev. Fr. Andres Aragon from the Society of Divine Vocation formulated the general topic about “Rediscovering our identity and responsibilities as a member of a parish formation team.” Likewise, he divided it into two, identity and responsibility being a parish formator.

Moreover, he brought two seminarians from their congregation to help him in discussing the topic. The participants listened intently to the discussion and reflected on it. Hence, they discussed the topic out of their own experiences in life and not just out of intelligence.

In the afternoon, Rev. Fr. Proceso G. Gimeno Jr. DCD, the parish priest of Panacan came and gave also some input regarding the characteristics of a good leader in the parish. He stressed well the value of humility that all leaders must have. After that, Fr. Gimeno celebrated the celebration of the Holy Eucharist that culminated the entire day activity.

Bro. Alvin Olaer, MAT, the parish formation ministry coordinator was very thankful for the success of the said activity. He announced that the installation of their office will be on June 23, 2013 at San Miguel Parish within the Holy Mass.

Annually, the Parish Formation ministry hold their transformational activity that would uplift their spirituality and personality as warriors of the Gospel.

Finally, the participants were very happy and full of inspiration as they went home. Bringing within their hearts the knowledge that they gained from the topics and the joy that would motivate them to continue serving the people of God, they went home alive and enthusiastic.
