Bible Apostles, communicators reflect on role of Mary
Mary: Communicator of Faith.
This is the theme and the focus of reflection of the members of the Archdiocesan Bible Apostolate of Davao and the Parish Social Communication Coordinators during their first gathering, May 26.
To help them reflect on the role of Mary as the communicator of faith, former pastor and now Catholic broadcast personality, Bro. Noe Dura shared his journey of faith from being a pastor for 15 years and how he chose to go back to the Catholic fold.
Bro. Dura shared how he once ignored and disbelieved the Blessed Mother as part of the history of salvation.
Almost 60 participants joined in the said gathering held at St. Francis of Assisi Parish and reflected on their own journey as Catholics.
Fr. Ritsche Gamaya, director of ABAD and the Social Communications Apostolate said this is the first time that the two apostolates gather together and reflect.
He said that every apostolate should proclaim the word of God and an apostolate is empty without the word of God.
He added that the Word of God should also be proclaimed through the use of Social Communications to communicate to the bigger number of faithful by means of television, radio, print and the Internet or social media.
Fr. Gamaya also said this will not be the last time that the two apostolates will work together as there will be more collaborations in the mission of evangelization.
The gathering is also the first for the appointed parish social communication coordinators who are appointed by their parish priests as point-persons for the archdiocesan social communications apostolate who runs Asia’s longest-running Catholic newspaper, Davao Catholic Herald.
