Benedictine Sister marks 60th year in religious life
The Benedictine Sisters of the Eucharistic King has celebrated the diamond jubilee of one of its members last May 22.
With joy and thanksgiving, Mo. Waldetrudis Cartalla, OSB celebrated her 60th year of profession of vows of poverty, chastity and obedience as a Benedictine Sister with a Holy Mass and renewal of vows. Fr. Savio Siccuan, Prior of the Monastery of Transfiguration in Malaybalay, Bukidnon presided over the Mass together with priest concelebrants in attendance.
In her message of thanksgiving, Mo. Cartalla said, “I don’t know where those 60 years have been gone but I’m sure God has been faithful.”
She thanked the religious sisters and their families and friends who came in and joined the community in celebrating the 60 years of God’s faithfulness.
“You have given us much joy with your presence,” she said, addressing the crowd.
Meanwhile, during the celebration, the Benedictine Sisters also celebrated the 25 years or silver jubilee of two of its members.
Sr. Mary Leah Relatado, OSB and Sr. Mary Andrea Anito, OSB both celebrated the 25 years of their profession of religious vows.
The two also thanked their fellow sisters who have been with them for the past 25 years as they also attributed their perseverance to God and to St. Benedict who taught them Ora et Labora—Prayer and Work, the core of their existence.
