New Deacon ordained from Diocese of Kidapawan
TULUNAN, NORTH COTABATO – On May 15, 2013 from the Diocese of Kidapawan, a new deacon, Rev. Mervin TabaosaresTahad, is ordained by His Grace Romulo Dela Cruz, DD, the bishop of the diocese of Kidapawan.
Themed “Ordinasyon: Bunga sang Pagtoo kay Kristo pinaagi sa sulondan ni San Isidro,” his ordination coincides with the celebration of their 53rd Parochial Fiesta whose patron saint is San Isidro Labrador.
The Holy Eucharist, presided by Bp. Dela Cruz, is celebrated in Ilonggo, the mother tongue of the people at the said municipality.
In his homily, he gave a short biography of San Isidro Labrador, saying: “His devotion doesn’t hinder him to do his work in the field. Indeed, he is an exemplar of prayer and work.”
On another note, he mentioned it is known that Tulunan produces the most number of priests in the diocese. “Perhaps, it is because of the blood of a priest shed in this place in the past which became the seeds of vocation.”
“Moreso, the support, help and prayer of the community in this parish contribute a lot in the growth of vocation and most especially those parents who are so generous enough in giving their children to the Church.” He furthered.
Rev. Tahad graduated on 2012 from St. Francis Xavier Regional Major Seminary. As a new ordained deacon, he will become an assistant of the bishop. (Ritzchild John S. Cariaga)
